Turning a Useless Patio Into a Beautiful Entertainment Area

If your backyard patio is a nice sunny place which is too hot to use on a warm summer day, you might want to consider making that a more useful and beautiful space.

Seating is essential. If you are expecting extra guests, consider having a supply of folding beach chairs and folding camp tables on hand for parties.

The deck or patio can be significantly upgraded by installing a retractable awning.  It will not only protect you and your family members from the damaging UV rays of the sun, but, if attached to the back of your house it will protect the house and even the rooms facing the patio, inside, too.  What a great way to save on cooling those rooms. Simply by providing a little shade you will be blocking about ninety-eight percent of those damaging rays and lowering your utility bill.

Retractable patio covers are made of water proof acrylic fabric which is solution dyed and made to last for years with proper care. A Euro style retractable patio cover may even withstand winds up to fifty miles per hour because it has a stronger frame with more struts. The extra struts on the frame allow the fabric to fold up into nice looking pleats so it is attractive and maybe a little charming, even when it is not extended.

If it is motorized it can be closed up in minutes to allow for the beauty of the day, or an upcoming storm. On a good day it can be fully opened up for full protection from the sun or just partially. You get to choose how much shade you make at any given moment.

One of these beautiful folding patio covers can be installed on a wood frame or on steel, aluminum, or vinyl, depending upon your situation and budget. You can even add adjustable side “curtains” which will continue to block the sun as it changes positions during the day. The covers usually come in standard sizes so if you have a very wide patio, two or three of them can be butted up to each other to cover more area.

You will want to consult a professional for all the details and specifics to fit your house and patio.
